Quite a persistent wind now, nothing very gusty though however some rain setting in now from what has developed over Wales. Squall could be quite intense when it arrives but very short lived.

As promised, just uploaded a video taken just over an hour ago. highest gust 75.6mph @ around 12secs in the video with many gusts exceeding 70mph!!. Also later in the vid you will see I got blown over a bit!!

Just getting dry and warmed through now smile.png

without a doubt a severe period of weather this afternoon, lots of debris around the roads off trees and small bits here and there off buildings.

Wind gusting really strong on and off here in Newcastle. That squall line looks really impressive I am waiting to see what happens when it moves over!? (Probably not a lot IMBY)

Get outta ya greenhouse then Peter ;-)

yes noticed the radar return is holding the squall solid up to now. I think I might retract the last statement and say it may get a tad windy in the eastend here ;-)

530 on the radar and the squall line is about to hit the Pennines. Even as an atheist i'm praying that this gets through!!

I think it might.. there's been a few squalls this year that have marched over the Pennines and hit here.. optimistic but we'll see

I think it read 75.9 - good stuff!

I couldn't really see well at the time the spray was stinging my eyes, they are still blood shot!! I got absolutely soaked through.

Have some minor damage around i.e some large road signs have buckled but then they have a wider surface area so to be expected really, some branches off too looking around but again wouldn't have taken anything too strong to dislodge. Very gusty here in my location still but all in all nothing more (at this stage) than a normal autumnal windy day!
