A high of only 11.6C today with a cold breeze making it feel a lot colder. Shorts and t-shirt to hat and gloves in the space of 24 hours and a chance of snow next week by the looks of it! At least its interesting I suppose

The dublin mountains are starting to turn white. Hope they are glimming in the morning.

Hi Kippure,

Might pay a visit in the morning,

In Canada? You dont need the Dublin mountains anymore :)

Still, not a bad few days so far this week, lots of interesting cloud formations about with some thunder in the south and east. Still a bit early in the year for anything too exciting but good to see convection kicking off again

Some awesome hailstones here 2 days ago, around 1/2inch of them in places. Cloud formations fantastic too, good to see some convective activity. First time I have had april showers in a few years.

Hail from a thunderstorm earlier today in south Donegal! Stayed dry here all day but I could see these showers developing just to the south all day, shame we never got any excitement here

It's been great having some interesting weather lately, and thankfully this should continue for another while yet.

Some very low night time temperatures tonight and tomorrow, could hit -4C in some favoured rural spots.

We then begin to see winds pick up and as a spell of heavy rain crosses the country during Monday.

MondayRain.png

A jet streak to the south of Ireland helps strengthen the low to the north west, as it gradually moves south eastward over Ireland. Winds looking strongest across the west on Tuesday night, gusts over 100km/h possible and a renewed risk of thunderstorms once more.

Finally a return to very cool conditions once again with a continued risk of frost by night.

So our April showers set to continue for the forseeable... Enjoyable mixed weather, with plenty of sunshine on my side of the isle...

A hint of more HP influence as we enter May, but let's just wait and see, eh?

Just thought I'd post just to shake the cobwebs out of this place!

Yeah what's up with the lack of posts??

Boring enough around here being too far north, dry and sunny most days which has been perfectly nice.

Plenty of interesting weather further south though with all the thunder and heavy showers, probably the most interesting weather the country has had all year

It has only stopped raining here in the last 25 minutes, after non stop rain since 6am, Well into the 2nd inch of rain. I'd imagine there will be some rivers bursting their banks overnight.

In contrast its barely rained at all here in two weeks now...!

Can't remember the last time we had a dry spell this long, looks like its finally going to break on Monday but nearly 3 weeks with hardly a drop of rain isn't half bad

My jealousy knows no bounds... Mind you, it was a beautiful clear dry day here today, got about 5 hours of much needed gardening done, only giving up, because my back did!!!

Potential for some warmer weather hitting our shores next weekend. Please God. Can't remember the last time I lit the fire in May... Flipping cold nights here lately!

Yes very welcome indeed.

In terms what it's like. Cooler in Summer, warmer in winter. Not as wet as you would think. In fact Dublin and north of County Dublin is the driest area with rainfall average close to south east England. East Coast is driest.
