Thanks for that Bt,

I better leave it out then and find the sledge.

I'd fetch the rock salt too, trust me, you're gonna need it. :winky:

I hope your right.

I can stand a good fall of snow at weekend when i don't have to drive in it although it is a long while since we had what i would consider a good fall, December 18/19th 2010 (can't remember which) was ok but i'm feeling greedy now.

I wonder how deep it could be here :o

If the ECM is right and the front stalls, you're looking at putting the ruler away, and switching to the tape measure.

Interesting video on the BBC weather site. things look very interesting for the end of the week. http://www.bbc.co.uk...atures/16821819

-2.8c now, the coldest temp of the winter so far and the lowest temp for over 12 months,

I get the feeling from that video that they expect the cold to win.

ECM doesn't model the stalling of the front. What we want is an upgrade in the strength of the Russian block, this will help to stall the front.

Pray! :D

What about low areas such as Manchester city centre, will they seen decent snow depths?

Depends on whether the front carries on through or stalls over us but if anyone in the region is going to see a decent fall i would say yourselves are in a favoured location.

Manchester is always in a good position for snow, it's probably the snowiest city in the NW.

Please join me in prayer.

Dear lord, please bless this industrial spoiled region with some of the white gold. We do not ask for much, but snow is a MUST for Saturday. No rain. Just snow. Kfanx.

Amen.

I'd have said less than that although it felt like it trying to clear the drive.

Maybe i am just being plain greedy then but i really want the region to get a good dumping from this although i wouldn't put my last tenner on it.

I'd probably put a fiver each on us ending up with rain and slush and EA & the SE getting plastered.

Greedy pants!

Yeah, I would rule about 80-20% in cold winning out though.

The SE will get plastered this week. :(

2009/2010 took me a total of 3 1/2 hours to clear my drive of snow! How I pray for another 3 1/2 hours of manual labour! Oh lord!

Good fancy coming doing mine on Sunday then.

That pitiful bit we had on Friday night was too little to shovel off so it's still there in the bit where the car doesn't go.

If nothing else it shows how cold it's been since.

My gut feeling is that the cold block will be a few miles further west and the atlantic air won't push as far east as forecast.
