I’ve been out this morning and although it’s a really beautiful day with plenty of sunshine the wind feels bitterly cold…

Temperature 0 °C

Windchill -3 °C

Dew Point -5 °C

I stopped off on the way home from shopping at the Grand Union canal which is frozen with quite thick pieces of ice floating around in the marina.

There is a lovely chart for us by SnowTornado posted in the Significant Snow Risk This Weekend - General Discussion thread...

Netweather forecast is showing SLEET for my area??"!?

all other websites including the BBC are showing snow. NOT sleet. why is it, we have some amazing people on this site, and NW are the only ones showing sleet for tomorrow night?

Red location on the warnings I see then! I just saw on another Model it shows temps of around 4 - 6 degrees for Sunday or Monday, I thought we were going to stay pretty cold over the East side, and that means it would thaw pretty quickly?.

Haha, I also have only Light snow forecast but Im pretty sure that will change, as it looks like we should get some heavy snow at least. To my earlier point I was referring to this chart/model?http://www.meteociel...&mode=6&carte=0, if Silver Line was responding to me, then Ok, I dont really know much about Models...

Yes but, If you read there statement it states 10 to 15 cm widely. Anyway 12z coming out this is the one. Model thread is the place to be. Lets see whats updated.

Oh right okay pal, just out of interest how do you see this panning out yourself, good for EA + 3 Counties? Maybe a little bit of a shift Westwards would do just to be safe in the next runs, I dont want to see any rain!

Took this about 13.15 just before we had a very light snow shower. The North Sea is out of shot to the right, so you can see by the wind turbine that the wind direction is now from the west.420487_361231580572418_100000567375667_1350461_375928591_n.jpg

Glad to see an amber warning with "5-10cm widely in the amber zone", want to see it go red though. Everything still looking good, roll on the next 48 hours :).

Hey Silver Line and Lloyd! Long time no speak. I'm back mainly because of the good chances of some snow in Herts! Hope you two are well? :)

All good my friend. Good to see you, so to speak. Chances looking V good. About blooming time IMO. Models look like they have shifted slightly west which is good for people in the W of the country, but it also slows the front which may mean it will be snowy for longer in our neck of the woods.

Its going to be a late night tomorrow for us in here :-) If it does snow it will be the 1st proper snowfall here since Feb 09.The last 2 winters have only been thin coverings here, along with parts of cambs and norfolk have been very unlucky. My 2 kids are 5 & 3 years old it would be nice for them to finally see some proper snow.Good luck to everyone in our region ;-)

...don't forget we also have a Netweather chat room available - it's a nice place to hang out and talk about anything and everything (even the weather sometimes) while your waiting for the snow.

silver line - there will be a drink waiting for you in the VIP lounge later :good:

I think everything to play for mate. Westward shift a tad will do, Very interesting from now on.
