What's the eta of the snow please? Am due to be travelling back from London to north Somerset on the train later today at about 6. Should I try and get out earlier or will the snow arrive over night? Thanks

Will add T36 and T42 in a minute

So 06z NAE still much the same. Maybe taking slightly longer to turn to snow, but with some heavier snow for Bristol and West Somerset down to Exeter in the early hours. Still a good run IMO. For example, Bristol sees snow at T18, T24 and T30, thats 12+ hours of snow ( albeit light at times )! :drinks::clapping:

The 06z NAE to my eyes eyes seems to have shifted further west again. This doesn't move the snow area but does make the precipitation less intense where it is snow. The heavier stuff stays out west. Still happy with it tho. :)

Am I right in saying we can expect to see snow (albeit light) early hours of this evening? The NAE charts are fairly broad in terms of the time frame, but the 6PM - 12AM chart has snow over us already. Would be awesome if we can see the first signs of it, early tonight.

I would love to stay up and Lampost watch, but I have an interview tomorrow so I need my zZz's

Edit: Also, what time does the next NAE update come out?

It does I think too! Although the chart you have posted will still deliver heavy snow to Bristol in the early hours of Friday morning! Still much better than last weekend anyway, even if we arent modelled the heaviest snow!

Its looking good folks and with temps remaining low over the weekend we should keep any lying snow for a little while at least, hope we all get a good dumping ;-)

Yes mate, seems ironic doesn't it with all the fuss made last week. All those in the snow area are still in it, and any minor correction back east on the 12z will make it heavier once again. Funny isn't it, last nite i was seeing this event as a complete bonus, now i'm nit picking!lol

I just saw Carol Kirkwood on the 9.30 BBCnews forecast. Looking at the graphic it looks as tho the snow will move into gloc around 11 then into the bristol area around 12, as a rough guide.

Ian Fergusson @fergieweather

Morning all. W Country forecast remains effectively as per yesterday's Tweets. Still uncertainty on bounds of snow distribution, esp to SE.

Latest from Ian F.

Oh the continuing shift westwards looks like we might end up missing out altogether, John Holmes has just posted an image and the heaviest stuff is now in Wales.

Mmmm, If we can get the snow through daytime Friday, then I dont think it will be going anywhere fast soon, especially in rural areas!

The heavy Snow will arrive overnight , but would expect to see falling Snow around 9pm in North Somerset , London end you should be fine at 6pm . I doubt on the London to Weston route there will be any disruptive Snow causing travel disruption until after Midnight .
