to be fair, no-one really knows. snowfall is very hard to predict even 12 hours before. best thing to do is keep watching local forecasts, satellite and radar pics. if after that you think you might get some, its down to watching the lamp-post....

At the mo, a little bit, it may change but probably unlikely at this close range.

Sadly the 18z and Meto output show the sweet spot of the snow further west, although also slightly further south. This wouldn't be good in this corner, still 24hrs to go .. watching the radar tomorrow will show us the truth.

Just to add what others have said, there have been plenty of times when surprises have happened this time last week it was all about how far east it would come stalling over us etc and bbc london forecast just 20% chance hitting London and look what happened in 2010 when the central belt of england had all that snow it pivoted up over kent and into essex towards the end that was never forecast and only Monday bbc were forecasting a cold DRY week so where did Thurs suddenly come from? think of all the mind boring winters we've had to endure through the 1990s and early 2000s in this part of the country we've had 3 or 4 regular snows now in a row it could be so much worse with weather expect the unexpected!

At least the 18z GFS is decent. With a NNE and plenty of snow, all the way from the North Pole by Valentines day!

remember the last snow we had went further east

than the models predicted

reckon this will look different tomorrow

will certainly be a radar night and lamp post watch

I do agree that the radar does show the ppt further east than predicted . I suppose using ready reckoning and allowing for the pivoting of the front , you would want the sweet spot over dare I say Carlisle tomorrow at around 3.00PM , then we might get more than expected in our corner.

I see the pub run is up to its normal tricks, teasing us with a tasty looking NE'sterly!? If it were to verify, not sure how much snow it would deliver though.

Guys, TEITS has just posted on the model thread that the NAE is wrong at 3hrs can you believe that, he says check the NAE at 3hrs over scotland then check the radar. AMAZING it can be so wrong at that range!!!!!
