And that's a big hole on the 18.15 radar run from Leeds to Sheffield.

I reckon it will be all over here in the next 1/2 hour if there is no push towards the SW.

Although it has been snowing for the last couple of hours there is nothing to show for it outside. Still at least we've seen some.

Heavier snow now adding to our existing cover. This band of snow is moving on a more S,ly track than I was expecting.

Yes, I'm starting to think this too. Let's see what happens over the next couple of hours and then decide if it's a non-event.

Aj and infact anyone west or northwest of Brum. Its best we now look towards the models for next week, chance of a northerly? This events over and down as another in a long list of damp squibs.

The snow has definitely arrived here. It's not just really light snow, plenty of flakes, most of them only 3 or 4mm but some are 1 maybe 1.5cm in size and falling steadily. Slowly getting more intense.

My goodness, it's spreading west out of Birmingham at the same speed as the number 9 bus!

Possibly, I always feel I do better from a Northerly, last December was as good as it gets here, bar a very rare exception imo

Was never going to be an event, uppers are too high, similar uppers to 27 Dec 2010, GFS 12Z shows mild all next week

Hi. It's been snowing lightly for about 45 minutes now. A fresh layer of snow is forming on all surfaces.

Radar looks a lot better than I was expecting with the band further south and east than was forecast by the models. Northants should see some heavier snow over the course of the evening.

Well its not what all television forecasts, the NAE and popular forecasters predicted Norfolk. But I know how things looked and I new it would be marginal at best. If the 12z's come off it'l be the end of February before we could even look for another snowy spell and by then, winter is over. Ive enjoyed some of the model watching over the last 6 weeks, but I feel very despondant this evening.
