Really turning into a miserable evening now. Persistent moderate rain, very cold...no sign of anything wintry. Feels very wet and raw out there.

Good job nothing interesting is forecasted until later!

Edit: just read the post about the milder uppers being further east than it should be. That's a real concern. Please don't tell me we'll end up with this muck all night?

just had a look at the NW Radar T850 overlay, and if it is to be believed, then it's bad news for all of the west midlands currently as the milder uppers are encroaching even further eastwards...the T850 Oc boundary is now to the east of Birmingham, going against the model outputs from last night and this morning. That in itself is bad news for West Midlands folk, but this really is a nowcast situation, things can change rapidly and some members will see these rapid changes...Whether the changes are good or bad, only time will tell

NMM etc suggest it will very soon spill West again though.

No surprise there  the Telford Snow Shield will do anything it can to stop anything wintry getting near here

1.1c at the mo and steady rain.

One or two floaty bits starting to appear in the rain now. It's getting that look like it really wants to turn. The same look it had on the 15th/16th December...except it couldn't quite manage it then.

STILL nothing falling here  Still can't believe how far East the main bulk of precip is either, it's crazy that it's still not moving SW yet, still on a S/SE movement.

The precip in the NE is definately moving SSW as you can see its not going much past the Wash if you watch the sequence

Happy to report snow just north of Coleshill (approx 3 miles from the airport), falling on to already wet ground so nothing of note on the ground other than the remnants of last weekends snow
