Anyway, does anyone else think Sunday's LOW will provide more rain than the whole of February?

I would say its almost certain too. I'm away on holiday for the weekend near Teignmouth, and it always rains when I go on holiday, even to hot climes :sorry:

And that was backed up by his Points West forecast earlier this evening.

Maxxes shown were 6c to 7c and I expect they would drop sharply once the frontal back edge moves over and, with possible heavy precipitation,

I would think wet snow could occur due to evaporative cooling.

Certainly going to be interesting watching the radar etc throughout Sunday, and even now the track of the LOW is uncertain! It shows how quickly

things can change after today's 13c+ in hazy sunshine!

I think the SE of England have the better chance of low level snow on Sunday as things stand currently. I do think it'll be a wait and see job though. Still a little bit of uncertainty at the exact track of this low and the frontal positions so who knows. At least something interesting is happening rather than the grey days of early this week...

Going to be interesting to see what happens sunday with this weather front, forecasts seem to still indicate a few hours of sleet/wet snow on back edge. Sadly Im at work until evening in bristol so wont have the home advantage :acute: Would have been better for us if it had been an early evening event but looks like south east may get best if anything out of this.

Great photo of the best convection since 2nd Jan! It was very lively! Gave about 20 mins of torrential rain/hail in Westbury at around 13.00!

Frome also had fair bit of hail to but not 20minutes though. Will it snow in Frome, Westbury,Trowbridge? Anyone know how high these areas are above sea level? Also, How high is Cley Hill and Longleat Heavens Gate?

Thanks

I filmed a decent funnel cloud over Longleat from Frome last year, sent it to Points West but nothing came of it as think it went in to late to them..

Not as good as the O6z output but none-the-less the snow is still there, just!

Im a little confused to be honest because meto seem so certain of a non event unless you live in east of england yet a few models still want to turn it to snow...? Can they be this wrong less than 24 hours out? ;)

I'd be very surprised about snow to be honest - it was still very mild here this afternoon at nearly 14C. Surprises are great though. :)

I know i posted these charts tongue in cheek and i know they wont verify but why is GFS adament about snow in the 12 hour time frame,i think it should have more human input.....
