Looking very threatening just to the southeast of here with a very defined shower edge. Would make sense from the report on the previous page of hail and thunder in Somerset.

My brother (who lives between Doncaster and Barnsley) has said he's heard at least 2 or 3 cracks of thunder near him in the last 20 minutes. Looking over that way, it appears like theres a lovely looking storm that way.

There is, I'm looking at it on the radar now.

Drifting my way slowly and can see it from the back window, hoping it makes it.

Don't think its coming your way. Its closing towards myself, but will probably miss, and hit John Holmes, who is 6 miles south of me.

Just had a glance at the meto radar on my phone, and noticed the large shower free area in the middle of the country, the slack flow and see-breeze convergence has helped the showers stay fairly close to the coastline.

It is, I've gt the 5 min radar on though its looking like it will probably go north of my area or at least the most active part of it. Assuming it doesn't dissipate beforehand that is.

I can see it from here, it contains lightning. We got a bit of drizzly rain from it but it formed just to the south of here. So, that's 3 times in 3 days that thundery downpours have formed just near here. Bad luck or what?

Got the edge of the previously mentioned storm dropping a little bit of rain on me now. Some rather interesting looking Cu/Cb to the north over York, which appears to have a couple of heavy rain areas in it looking at the radar.

Something forming just to the north of here. Must be a convergence zone setting up. Each radar scan getting increased precipitation.

Look to your east at the massive one that seems to have appeared in the last hour or so over York..

Don't think that will be any good, they're moving west - east.

Which way are they moving. According to your sig you are near Blackburn right, how can a storm near to Doncaster be heading towards you? Or are you looking at something else?

Thats what I'm trying to work out. We've had a shower break off the storm and head this way (NE Doncaster), but other than that, it seems to be sat on the NW side of Doncaster.

Having read all the reports from London and the South East in the last few days ( Including today ) Im just gobsmacked that my location here in North West London has seen nothing more than a few spots of rain, and nothing whatsoever in the way of convective activity all week.

It actually looks like the dark skies to my south are getting closer.. the radar suggests otherwise.

That set of clouds to the north of me is dropping some heavy stuff now.

Local news also reports that a 'Funnel Cloud' was seen in the Doncaster area today.. No idea where exactly though.

Because I am west of it and that is where it was going. Looks like it is fading and rebuilding to the north now however with more local activity forming here.

There is some heavy stuff now between Wakefield and Pontefract which will probably head towards Doncaster but it is all very pulse style again so could die out by the time it reaches there. It is on the northern edge of the main shower, which is heading very very slowly SE. Also some heavy stuff between York and Goole which will probably head towards the Humber.

Just light rain here in stormless Bradford.
