Dear Mother Nature,

I am about to throw in the towel and go to bed in my neck of the woods. Please don't let me regret this like I did Monday night when I discovered we had a storm 30 minutes after my head hit the pillow.

Amen.

There are some seriously impressive echos on the radar in Essex, moving over Colchester - how is nobody posting about this? Nobody live in Essex?

Mostly heavy rain ,only seen two flashes all night in clacton.as all this is high based stuff the rain is heavy but not that heavy

Hey all.

Looks like we could see some flooding under that mass of precip - as above, haven't seen many posts from that area though ..

Looked out the window to my east a very short while ago, did not see any flashes, but just had a large rumble of thunder half a minute ago (actually as UKWeatherOutlook said, towards Sudbury way/direction) . Will go to look out window again, but I think it might be a very sporadic affair. Heavy rain in the area for a few hours now.

Delete that last comment, just put the dogs to bed and one big big flash lit up the sky here, then a smaller one to the SE.

edit - think it might be from a cell near Lowestoft

Some more flashes and rumbles of varying intensities, more rain, wind has picked up slightly. Hard to tell if it is going away or not really at the moment :)

Obviously going away then rofl.gif Any more action?

Apart from the rain I dont think we are going to see much in the way of storms tonight......still going to bed with the window open (blind faith and misplaced optimism kicking in again!) fool.gif

ATD isn't showing anything new, my StrikeAlert has gone very quiet now. Enjoy whatever you get down there!

Yes you are right, it went away after another flash or two and rumble! Too tired to keep looking out windows, though think rain will be all that remains for a while.
