Some towers going up now to my east (Stone & then down through Cannock by the looks of things)....definitely Cu Congestus glowing orange in the heat haze...I'll definitely be keeping my eyes on these for next next few hours as the hi-res modelling puts me right under the area of surface convergence

speaking of a breeze, was picking little one up from school ,really hot ,then this quite chilly breeze hit, felt out of place for how warm it is, stayed with us for a minute or so then it went back to a normal warmish breeze, quite strange. any idea what that could have been ?

27.3'c here and climbing, just spent the good part of a hour outside but any cu which forms begins to dissipate almost as quickly, a few larger ones merging over Kinder Scout as predicted but the trigger isn't strong enough just yet to keep initiation going.

Not half a bit tasty! Just 1 of the factors though but if everything does come together.......could be interesting!

As long as the anti cyclone is as strong as it is, that CAPE will all be wasted.

Ah, today is very warm and humid with high dew points.. perfect for storm development.. well, you'd think so, but sadly muggy conditions don't automatically equal storms.. many other factors to consider, toosad.png

Just out of the area I'll be travelling through tomorrow, but I'll still have an eye on the sky!

That little spot around Portsmouth/IOW still looks interesting:

It is very hazy in Bradford with some developing cumulus. It feels like there could be a storm but I think that it'll be a no go now :(

Big towers going up to the North East & East over the peaks I'd say. Anyone know what direction any storms may head. Surface wind is light Northerly here, so I'd hope uppers had a touch more east about them.

Difficult to say, cu towers all day have been building against the wind which is a north-northeast flow, haven't seen the uppers yet but Cheshire reporting westerly winds and Nottingham easterly along the convergence. But purely going off visual obs anything that does develop initially will be heading slowly north.

still quite warm , up here no cbs to report, just a layer of Altocumulus. Looks like they moving from South East to a North west direction

Some heavy showers in Scotland, or a radar error?

Looking at the visible sat image, looks like some very heavy showers in southern Scotland near Livingston

Clouds are really building now around here, maybe there could be something after all. If I go out onto the hill nearby I have views for miles in all directions so I may head off in a bit to see if I can see any cb's developing.

On another note, has anyone seen all the lightning over Holland. Wish I was there!

Livingston M 8 Motorway cameras show a lot of surface water so makes sense.....
