Clouding over here now.

Doesnt seems "thundery" and far too windy currently.

Looking good for some imports, they are lots of single cells forming as they hit the warm air.

Very heavy showers appearing around cardiff and NW of Glos.

Sat pictures show convection.

Next hour or so is the dealbreaker for around here.

Certainly not a lot going on here, apart from the temperature dropping a degree in last half an hour. aggressive.gif

Seems to be a lot of cloud spilling in from the south west, that'll probably hamper things in many areas, probably why the MO aren't too concerned.

Very warm outside at 22.7c, cumulus building all around, obviously a cap because they reach a certain point and just dissipate. Need more moisture!

hey all

Seems to be some shear around here - not sure what level but building weak cumulus almost looks like it's getting shredded downwind. Big black mass to my west (of Cirencester) but it looks like it's hit an inversion - promissing though!

Cheers, Sam

Showers pepping up over the West now. I expect the energy will transfer Eastwards causing bigger showers to form in the higher temperatures.

The only light in the sky I have seen today is the Olympic Torch through Shrewsbury!

That said stuff building up to the west. And in South Shropshire there is a nice looking cell on the radar heading for Ludlow, which is why I suspect people from that area are hearing rumbles of Thunder.

Well its started raining here in Reigate and I can see strong convection over the North Downs. Im more hopeful than yesterday when all we got is a big black cloud and 1 drop of rain!

I am never more certain of the chance of a storm than when I look in here at lunchtime and see the morning crew have written them off. Next few hours could prove interesting for us South Easterners then acute.gif
