Thanks dallas, I did wonder if it was being played somewhere else in the Country. Thank goodness it won't be affected!

Anyway, back on topic - bugger all happening weather wise in Bexleyheath!

Apparently there was some thunder in Norwich today, but typically I missed it as I was en route from Ippy. Maybe more later this evening or tomorrow with luck. It is quite humid now. :)

Pleasant here in Barbados. Light breezes, with hazy sunshine and about 30C.

*tsk* I do wish people would stop going on about how nice the weather is elsewhere in the world nonono.gif

Not a bad evening here though really....blue sky and sunshine so I'm off to have a 'wish I was there' moment with a Pimms in the conservatory blum.gif

Drove through the most terrific downpour today, around 11:15 - 11:20am. Wipers on full speed and still could barely see. Roads instantly flooded. Was quite scary as I've never driven in rain that heavy and i was also in my new car so a little nervous.wacko.png Had to drive through the most mahoosive puddle. It was more like a lake. It was like an ocean. I half expect to see a liner coming the other way.shok.gif And I made it out the other side alive. biggrin.png

I love this post - the way a puddle becomes a lake and then an ocean and then introduces the idea of an ocean liner bearing down, with the associated threat to life! Made me smile when I read it and am still smiling some time later.

Thanks CM for adding to the gaiety of the nation!

Yes, but I've also picked up a shell bracelet that I'll never wear again (and will add to my collection of such items) as well as a bottle (Mount Gay Rum glass bottle) of aloe vera, that's nicely chilling in my fridge here and will likely decompose before I use it. At least I refused the cocaine offered - I was told I looked like a guy who liked to partyrofl.gif (I've always been lukewarm at best in my attitude to parties, although I like more informal late night socialising) and the stuff the chap was selling (Peru's finest) was far more pure than the stuff I could buy in the UK (cut to 30/40% purity apparently)

I've briefly looked at charts and can see a 'dartboard' low currently in the southwest approaches, that looks like it's not going to do too much to our area. Is there any sign of any prolonged summery spell yet? I've seen a Daily Express headline here, which as usual I ignored, with no second thought, about Summer starting in September. Any thoughts from more knowledgeable people?

*Wind Warning for Saturday*

Winds becoming very strong across the region, these may increase to 40-50mph

Trees are in full leaf so damage could occur.

A risk of downpours to.

Just spoken with my brother on the phone and it seemed their were no showers yesterday in London apart from a light shower around 11am and he ended up having a reasonable day, looks like showers may miss the region again today, EXCELLENT NEWS

Things dry tomorrow - so all in all not a bad weekend for the folks in the SE.

Where is that from ESS as all I can see today are a few more gusts in Devon/Dorset and to the North of there and not as much rain as the last few days?

Why I my posts being edited? Absolutely ridiculous. What reason did I give for my last post to being deleted partly. Nothing whatsoever untoward was written.

I think the mod team have actually forgot this is a discussion forum.

I shall not post on this forum again. Disgusting

Must be the hat speed :p

Things look better for the upcoming week than recently but another lp seems fairly likely for next weekend.

Certainly no signs of a long summery spell, but at least something a bit warmer and a bit more settled, especially for our region seems to be the form horse....

Keep getting some big clouds coming over but decent breaks with sun and blue sky, not over windy here but think is due to get windier later, excellent getting washing dry kind of day!

I've just taken time to read through most of the posts here now - I wondered why the number of pages had risen to 30 so quickly!

Major commiserations to Quantum Snow! Having your house flooded must be a total nightmare. I hope you recover as soon as possible,

Being out of the country and not in touch with news until yesterday really, I had no idea of the major rainfall event. My posting about future summery weather seems glib in the circumstances.

Now that convection seems to be breaking the overcast, things aren't too bad in this neck-of-the-woods: bright and breezy, 17C...
