This was Glasgow Airport? Have a look back on the last page here, the photo was forwarded to a mate of the guy who took it.

Re tomorrow mornings potential "MCS" I'm waiting for the 18z model, if it looks good i'll set the alarm clock, if it don't look good, time to give some head to that pillow.

True, don't really see the problem though, hundreds of different links gets posted to this forum each day, there's link backs on the site to netweather anyhow for their lightning detector, would happily advertise their NW extra subscription

And yeah, the GFS don't show anything, but let's see what the NMM shows.

.....re tonight/tomorrow...the latest NMM output should be out soon, and I'm intrigued as to what delights/let downs that it has in store for us...The 12z was bullish is developing some very heavy ppn out of the low countries tonight, and they inferred plenty of elevated convection hence my thoughts on a possible MCS...anyhoos, eye's down shortly!

Hey Matty, which model are we talking about here, the NMM? What is the let down you speak of?

18z NMM looks very good for convective potential over parts of N/NW England and S Scotland tomorrow, also down the spine of the UK into East Anglia.

Yes, indeed, quite a dramatic change in outputs from the 12z to 18z.....Now showing some heavy rain grazing the east coast before more showery ppn developes further west along the frontal boundary.....Looks pretty dry further south now with limited convective opportunities due to extensive cloud cover...and then tomorrow night, rinse & repeat by the looks of things currently

The overnight/early morning heavy ppn is pretty much now staying out in the sea compared to the 12z run which showed a potential MCS.

Yes quite a turn around on the 18z, still showing good potential for more northern areas throughout Thursday for some decent convection kicking off.

I think it counts if the storm has gone overhead, I'm not actually sure what the rules are for getting out of the NSC but going by that I still haven't had a storm!
