Been watching that slowly approaching here in Dudley for about the last hour, as you say though seems totally lifeless

I think i'm going to call it a day, the sky looked as dark as it did earlier that afternoon when we had the storm but at the moment it's just rain, plus i'm getting nothing done sitting at the computer and staring out the window. lol

Well, this is certainly turning out to be an excellent summer for thunderstorms so far!

First we had the apocalyptic El-Brumo event in late June, followed this weekend by two direct-hits, with the one today in particular being a real throwback to the 1980's/1990's style summer storms.

Wow, if you are seriously calling this early Autumn then I dont know what to think anymore. August is a SUMMER MONTH and actually looks like being this years best SUMMER MONTH of 2012.

And sunday wont be a washout. Any rain looks to come from later evening thunderstorms probably.

I'm still keeping hope the scandihigh can keep the atlantic systems at bay next week or at least stall them in a position to bring thundery weather up from the south.

At present it looks like warm, humid but generally cloudy weather with showers but it wouldn't take much of a shift to end up in a hot southerly with plenty of thundery potential.

Still quite certain temperatures are being underplayed by the GFS, especially for Saturday, a sunny south easterly at this time of year with those warm uppers should mean 25c+ surely rather than the 21c being progged.

Ooh its actually brightening up afterall now!

Foggy start here, rather dense actually for a time but burnt off to give a lovely warm day with long sunny spells although a fair bit of mid level cloud for a time.

High was 22.6c in the end, looks glorious again tommorow but that looks about it for here with murky low cloud Saturday being forecast?

Saturday Night/Sunday remains interesting although we all know the Telford storm shield has killed off everything interesting this year to date, will it finally break this weekend ?

Lovely day in Stourbridge and Worcestershire today though a bit cloudy mid afternoon. Now very warm and sunny with more to come. Next week could be a bit unsettled but essentially warm.

Thundery potential already significantly downgraded on the latest GFS for Sunday. If its right then its back to square 1 next week.

No shocks there, I see the original idea for a Scandi high to keep atlantic systems at bay is failing just like it does in winter with a repulsive monster low attacking Tuesday :lol:
