If the stuff thats over the Wash at the moment can move over the Trent Valley in the next couple of hours, we could see some interesting stuff.

Hmmm, I think if it does reach us Chris it will have lost it's energy by then, but fingers crossed. Thursday night was just unbelieveable...you couldn't have made it up!

Don't see why, there's good CAPE and the LI looks good too. Thursday was less promising on that score, so I'm not surprised it died out in the end - just hoped it could keep going. The lightning detector is showing fresher strikes moving this way too.

On top of that I'm doing all of the things that usually encourage heavy rain - shorts, washed the car and have washing on the line as I type! Sky TV has just gone on the blink too.

Pasting the Aussies at cricket and a storm too? Would be great.

Decent cape and LI, fairly high dew points, but they all seem to be dying on the way up to here, no decent towers anymore. Any ideas whats happening?

Even a shower would be nice! lol

Kicking off further North now looks a dead duck here though. Didn't really get warm enough to keep them cells fed.

The one thats gone up North of Lincoln looks as if it could be quite menacing.

Gone very dark to the southeast of here, thought I just heard a rumble but was probably a plain. Really humid feeling now to.

Yep that interesting lot to the east of here is going to head too far N. God i'm sick to the back teeth of this situation now. Funny how the cells on the western flank, which were on target, dissipated! Flamin joke!

I am baffled by this shield in south west lancs, north cheshire, its as though elecrical activity is not allowed here anymore, it never used to be like this, there is a force field here I tell ya

Just has a CB develop close with some brief heavy rain, nothing electrical of course , and I am not expecting anything later either

Showers due to hit here have taken a westerly track and died a death, whereas north Lancashire looks set for some fireworks!

That one from Lincoln, if it maintains its course, is heading straight for Sheffield.

Some towers died a death here a while ago, but some look to be popping up again N of Cambridge, heading in a NNW direction i think. Today has been a day though where promising looking storms have taken sharp turns west and have been killed. Argh if we had the absence of the cold north sea, and nothing but hot land to our east, we'd get some very beefy spectacular storms.

Apologies for the size, but this is the cell that has popped up over the house in the last half hour.
