Just had a torrential downpour here but there was/is no lightning and I haven't heard thunder.

It's quite suprising today actually. I expected things to get going around 4/5pm here but whatever did develop in Lincolnshire died pretty quickly and never made it this far. So far this year I've only had 1 unexpected thunderstorm, and the ones that looked most promising havn't delivered or dodged me completely. search.gif

Oddly, I only moved from shrewsbuy to Telford 7 years ago, and one of the things that appealed to me about it, was that they always seemed to get more bad weather this way. Since I've moved it seems the other way around :)

Finally got to see a storm over Queensbury (more towards Clayton). Not a lot of T&L but did manage to see an excellent bolt that went across the sky and dropped 2 CG's - one right in front of my camcorder and the other to the side of me :). Other than that there were 2 flashes and about 5 or 6 rumbles.

Some very angry clouds with it too that i got some video of.

Be nice to catch a storm before the working week. NAE and NMM have numerous showers and storms firing across the Midlands during the afternoon, with winds modeled to converge over the region around the same period.

Let's hope there's no further eastward revisions of main unstable area on future model output.

Some SE'ward movement would be nice...a least give me a chance to observe a distant mature Cb!!!!

Just returned from a night out in Derby and my rain gauge has collected 17mm of rain.5mm from the Thunderstorm around 2pm and 12mm from the deluge at around 7.30pm.So that makes a grand total of 65mm in the last 2 days including yesterdays washout!!

Just got back from an evening out (just in time!). The rain is so heavy it has knocked the satellite signal out!

Just driven home to Romney Marsh from Hitchin, 115 miles and the rain has been pretty torrential in places, no lightning though, drops were slapping on the windscreen
