I was walking back from the shop just over an hour ago when it suddenly hit, it couldnt have lasted more than 3 or 4 minutes, but I have to admit I was terrified, the wind just came from nowhere.Ive just looked on my local papers website and the squall has brought a big tree down on the main road which landed right next to a bus stop so glad no one was injured theres a picture of it on lancashiretelegraph.co.uk.

Rain becoming heavy here in South Tyneside ahead of the squall line, will just be rain but I hope that line holds until it gets here!

Does anyone think that squall line will hold up until it reaches the Highlands area of Scotland (Perthshire specifically?)

there is a gala at Blair Atholl a few miles away at around 7pm and there is going to be parachute jumping. Just wondering if we are in line for some weather....!

Rain is now belting down seems to have intensified ahead of the main band now. Although I am not expecting T&L up here this evening I am expecting some good rainfall returns from this...

A few drops of rain around 2pm (I counted them, there were 32 :D) Still breezy and cloudy but not feeling particularly humid now.

Thats a stroke of genuis from the boffins at the Met. Updating an alert for NOW during rush-hour. It was quite clear two hours ago this was going to affect a wider area.

Winds are already picking up here (Pitlochry, Scotland). Can't see there being parachute jumping later (it's scheduled for 7.30 ish)

The squall appears to have exploded around the Harrogate area again as it enters the NE. Let's hope it can continue to intensify!! And yeah the metoffice have not really been on the ball for this region but thats from an IMBY not sure how it fared in others??

The squall line is throwing out a few CG to the East of Doncaster, just had one near me that gave a good 30 second bellow of thunder afterwards.

Rains long gone from here but the wind hasn't half picked up recently.

Some strong gusts around, taking a slight edge of the temp too!

Really big rumble of thunder there - saw no lightning, but I was not paying attention until I heard thunder.
