Sun is making an appearance in N Bristol. Already feels fresher out there with the wind blowing but still pleasantly warm enough. Shame nothing really kicked off here, but it wasn't really forecast to except the heavy rain to be honest.

You couldn't get a better cluster of sferics running South to North through the spine of the country!!!!!

Crikey that LEWP transitioned pretty well within a matter of 30 mins. Should be here within 2 hours or so.

Taken from the weather Station in my town

" Maximum Temperature (since midnight) 19.4°C at: 09:18 "

Daily max recorded at 9AM? That's a first ._.

Maxima often occur at night but usually reserved for the winter half. Marked air mass change today my max was by 10am 21c currently 15c.

First 'proper' rain of the day just getting going here now. It's not accompanied by any thing remotely thundery or lightningy I'm afraid!

Just been out to look at that storm as it passed by here, worst was out to the West between myself and Gottalovethisweather, as the sferic map shows thats pretty much where the sferic activity passed through. Looked extremely dark and there was a bit of a green tint on the approach, saw maybe 4 or 5 flashes, I think it stayed intracloud, and heard a few rumbles too. Brief squally heavy rain that started very suddenly, actually heard it coming and dived for the cover of the car but nothing much else happened. Tried heading up the M4 to maybe head up on the M40 and catch up again but its moving fast and the traffic post downpour is not!

Was good fun tho :)

If you look to the SW of your area (Manchester) around Crewe I am sure it isn't a damp squib, There is still plenty of time left in today - don't write it off just yet ;-)

Sferics on the squall line west of Liverpool now.

Looking good for the Midlands too, just hope it can hold together enough to give a storm here.

Quite jealous of people still to the east of that squall. It was impressive as it came through here (though not electrified at that time). Should also be noted how thunder is now being reported much further north on that line. I think this could be good for some lucky people to the north and east.
