Temp here is 11.9 pressure 988.3 ,had a down pour about an hour ago but it's really still out there ,are we really going to see lots of rain ?? And windy conditions??

Technically you are, the low is rotating around the centre, the clear spot you are in is the centre of this depression, the centre is normally cloud free.

Well it's cats and dogs here! Has been for a while now.

981 low pressure over east anglia at 1200 hrs tomorrow

very tight isobars over the south east

the wind will be an issue tomorrow morning onwards

expect some very heavy rain overnight and tomorrow

midnight still windy but rain not quite as heavy

tuesday looks windy still with more potential heavy rain

windy and wet but not heavy rain more blustery showers instead

wednesday 1200 that low is a stubborn so and so

more potential heavy rain but wind easing off

thursday less wind but still showers around feeling cold

friday more cloudy dreary and wet weather

light winds but still feeling cold again

raw fax looks like saturday could be dry

and no wind

will feel a lot warmer

however look to our north west

another low looks to be heading our way

One of the wettest if not the wettest September day in Leigh On Sea, certainly as far back as my records go.

31.6mm has fallen since 10am this morning, the biggest deluge came from the enhanced line that came through a few hours ago, saw a few cloud tops lighting up way way off to the east which must have been somewhere off the French coast near Boulougne.

As others have said we are dead bang in the centre of the Low now so clear skies for the next 4-6 hours before the next deluge arrives, btw max wind gusts down here have been a non event with 19mph the max and an average of 7mph, would expect it to get a lot windier tomorrow as the low pulls away from us.

During the overnight hours, thunderstorm probabilities increase over the English Channel,the S-North Sea and the N-Bay of Biscay as cold air at mid-levels spreads to the south and east.

I'm thinking about the thunderstorm risk in all this! i think we have quite a good chance of seeing some.

For the winds we can expect it to get very rough through monday with gales, maybe severe gale force in exposed places.

There is a risk also of a change in the deepening of the storm and the track, so it could be stronger.

Pressure 989.9, temperature 12c, rain in last 24 hours 34.7mm, rain in last hour 0. We don't seemed to have much rain last night, very little wind at present either.
