The worse stuff seems to be going just south of me.

Its pretty dire out there now. We had a brief lull this afternoon following about 6 hours of non-stop rain, but the rain has returned with a vengeance this evening and the winds are really picking up.

An interesting few hours ahead I think !!

Hi all

Nine hours of rain here now and it still continues, not seen any "dramatic" amounts, just a constant one, yet to see the wind, that I expect later in the night/early tomorrow.

Think we could see some heavier boughts of rain then too.

Just heard a distant rumble, stepped outside just before the rain hit and it was strangely quiet, no wind!

very disappointed with that big crazy bulk of rain on the radar, it rained heavily for about 20mins but not torrential, i thought i was in a prime spot cray.gif

Me too! The heaviest stuff passed right over me, wasn't quite as squally as I was expecting it to be, did get a couple of rumbles of thunder out of it though so can't complain too much!

Is that stuff coming out of the bay of biscay tomorrows rain?

Yep, that lot will begin to intensify and push into the South-West in the early hours, our rain will start to develop around the same time and push across the channel, I doubt we'll see anything quite as heavy as we saw today, it looks like a much drier afternoon for us tomorrow!

Weve not even had anything particularly heavy. Is worse to come?

I'm suprised you haven't had a lot of rain, you must be just be out of the main circulation. There is still a lot to come and depending how it moves, you could get quite a bit more overnight.

I've had over 14 mm since lunchtime, yes the worst is still to come for me I think - pressure dropping like a stone here 997.2 hPa now and a very chilly and damp 8.8 °C

Temp is a bit warmer now than it was at 1530! Now 11.8c (10.3 at 1530) maybe that's a mistake?!

21.8mm

23mph gust

Weve had rain on and off all day but it was only heavy for about 10 minutes at around 9pm. Seems to be going above and below me.

Hammering it down now in Ippy and I can't swear to it but I think I've just heard a couple of rumbles in the distance. Mind you....we had a lot of veg at dinner. :D Seriously though-it did sound nicely ominous and could be thunder.
