The wind now becoming a factor, once that band of rain pushes through, the winds will sudden increase to a westerly direction.

I'm really confused because were supposed to be having 60-70 mph gusts down here today, we had a squall earlier as the wind switched from South, to SW to West in the space of about 5 minutes !!!...small branches down, even the bed frame that some git had left in our car park blew over, BUT since then the wind has died right down and the leafs on the tree's are barely ruffling ??

Autumn 2012 is officially here in Mid Sussex as I stumbled on my first conker in the works car park and my first Daddy Longlegs.

I'm thinking about the thunderstorm risk in all this! i think we have quite a good chance of seeing some.

For the winds we can expect it to get very rough through monday with gales, maybe severe gale force in exposed places.

There is a risk also of a change in the deepening of the storm and the track, so it could be stronger.

Gales blowing, very fast moving clouds, i think a chance of night lightning tonight, could see some action develop in the Channel and head inland overnight and especially tomorow.

For today the gales or storm force winds continue.

Subtle changes in the last 30 mins as clearer skies brought sunshine. That's changing now as the winds whistle up - I've not seen such variable weather over a short period for many years. She is a little minx spinning around us.....

Not much in the way of wind here. Max gust today 24.3mph. I guess I'm too far inland?
