Snowfall by opening of December pushes deep into Europe

@BigJoelaminate floori

Amazing how this looks like 2010 in Europe Nov got warm.. heavy rains smashed into UK, then whip came down in Dec!

  • @BigJoelaminate floori
Rain means something .. signs of change in pattern when excessive in winter. Here we go again! Heavy UK
  • rains, then the iceman cometh

  • @BigJoelaminate floori
Children in UK and NW Europe about to experience another round of not knowing what snow and cold is as it gets cold and snows.

Yes, the northern extent of the rain is slightly further north than 06z GFS predicts.

Heaviest rain looks like ending up across the southwestern England and Wales, where it really is least needed!

Thanks Nick. I was going to like your response but I only actually like part of the news you have given us. Do you have a forecast out?

They do make me laugh, they probably make up their so-called forecasters who are supposed to have quoted this I bet they don't even excist. I'd luv to investigate them over this and sue the laminate floors! What they write is just out of order in my opinion, they could be responcible for widespread hysteria.

LOL it just said laminate floors, I leave you guys to guess what I actually put!

Was it 'I have a problem'?

No, obviously something else!! :D I said the a**e word.

Rain a little heavier now but still quite calm in The Swich.

Quite fun to compare the purported UKMO run from 30 November 2012 with the behemoth from New Year's Day 1963. That was some high over Greenland!

Pouring in Storford. Looking at the projected gusts map for between 3 and 6 am it could be the strongest gusts we have seen for a while in this part of the world.

Anyone else get the feeling this is going to end up as simply a slightly breezy damp squib?

Well the Beeb TV forecasts have downgraded the wind. But the rain is still forecast to be atrocious in SW England

Here in Essex I don't see higher gusts than 50mph tbh... Shame as was looking forward to some damaging winds.

The GFS 12z is a stunner and it is sticking to the trend. clapping.gif

12z GFS has windspeeds in Kent about 10mph higher than current MetO output,

And, notice, that the central pressure is lower - 979hPa by 6am, tomorrow.

Just got back from visiting and cuddling the dogs at Battersea Old Windsor. The roads in the area had very large and deep puddles which motorists were taking care to avoid. The Thames was very swollen and if the rain persists for many more hours, it is possible to imagine the banks coming under pressure; might be an interesting night for the Runnymede Spa! Very wet M25 and A3 driving home.

Raining all day in East Sussex and some flooding on minor roads already. Still looks like a wild night for us and plenty of wind to come, as I'm off for a curry with the lads shortly!

I'll leave you with this analysis to contemplate, which looks it will be with us by midnight latest:

Pouring with rain in Ipswich but less so now in Norwich. Boooooring!! Good journey though listening to the brilliant Stephen Fry's audio book.
