Chucking it down all day in Brighton, went to first ever game at the Amex, quite high up, lots of driving rain and swirly wind, good place to watch football. Wind gust prediction nudged down from 70mph to 60 mph but still should be quite lively.

Cold weather still seems to be on the way

Why can't the wind happen at 3pm instead of 3am?!! I can hardly head down to the beach wave watching in the middle of the night :p

My thoughts exactly, the waves should be awesome but even I draw the line at standing on a cliff edge at 3am!

Just slight drizzle in Norwich at present. Will we be getting any rough weather. I don't know how to read the models, charts etc so I rely on you good people who are in the know.

I'm snuggled up researching 19th century railways. Particularly The Wherry Lines in EA. Anyone know anything about trains from around 1870s. ( Sorry, that wildly off topic) :o

Thanks John, just had an email from the met office which extends the weather warning for wind further north, now includes Northampton and Bedfordshire and everything SE.

Go on the Met Office website, gust predictions would suggest up your way is going to see some of the strongest winds as the system deepens and pulls away into the north-sea. 60mph+ quite possible!

met office updated fax at 7oclock

PPVA89.gif?31415

low in about the position they predicted

however pressure has dropped as was predicted at 997 now 991

the isobars also

look tighter to the south of it and look at the hook there

these can cause problems as noted by gtltw earlier

Things could certainly get interesting in the early hours, I might be woken from my slumber! The silent calmness out at the moment is what's worrying me lol :-( You know the old saying?.... I've got a feeling it's going to explode!
