Very intense rain just come through here. Been on and off all day but when it rains, boy does it rain! Fields look sodden around here, not looked at the river but I'm guessing it's heaving. A few more downpours like the one we just had and flash flooding is very likely IMO.

I've just gone into the model thread on recommendations. There are some great posters there amongst the carnage for all users - Gibby, Fergie, TWS to name a few.good.gif Also good posters for more advanced users too - Chiono, GP etc.

But I can't stay there too long. It makes my head spin at the moment.ph34r.png

The model thread is as awesome as it always is in the run up to a cold spell - you just have to exercise some very disciplined selective reading! :)

It does look cold for the weekend, but I just can't see where any other of the important ingredients will come from to make it worthwhile wink.png

Here's the best I can do:

what hope do with have if they are wrong in this short time span wacko.png

Will be interesting to see which is correct. Just checking NW NMM, there is a very small area of intense rain in EA during tomorrow up to lunch, but generally not shed loads?

Wish i could do the same.. but its pointless, i now have one of them new energy saving lamp posts out side my house, which has now moved across the street, which is also nowhwere near as bright or good as the old one, which also dims during the night when everybodys asleep, spotting snowflakes in it is pretty damn hard. sorry.gif does anybody know where i can get hold (or knick) one of them batman spotlights?diablo.gif

I just hope that if anything falls from the sky in the next few weeks it's a crystalline water-ice product rather than a liquid one!

UK Outlook for Saturday 1 Dec 2012 to Monday 10 Dec 2012:

Wintry showers are expected to affect some eastern areas on Saturday with snow on hills, possibly to low levels in the north. Elsewhere, largely dry and fine, but cold with the risk of frost, icy patches and overnight freezing fog. By Sunday, rain may spread into the far west, preceded by snow, mainly over higher ground. There is a lot of uncertainty for the remainder of the period but it is likely that northern and eastern areas remain cold with wintry showers for some. Elsewhere, it will probably become milder, at least for a time, but also more unsettled, with rain and hill snow accompanied by stronger winds. Later in the period, colder but drier conditions may become re-established across the UK, with frost and icy patches for many.

Driving through floodwater :

I think its worth a mention because clearly many people either don't have a clue or don't think ( or care ) about the effect their 'bow waves' will have on nearby folk and properties, never mind their own vehicle.

A small moderate shower has been pivoting round the centre of the low for the last couple of hours here giving us about 7mm or rain so far.

Blimey the model thread is draining. From the slough of despond to the land of milk and honey and back again, all in the space of a minute or two. Think I'll stick to something less stressful. Like wing walking. Without a harness. In a thunderstorm. On a one-winged plane. With engine failure.

Awsome ukmo JP.ECM going to be the real deal now. I am praying that was a wobble last night. If that agrees with the UKMO, The Model thread will explode. Here we go........post-11193-0-06789300-1353949445.jpg

i think ecm and gfs will gradually show the eastern block stronger as each run goes on

the problem with gfs is 4 runs a day

ecm will show a milder low shortly and will probably revert to ukmo tomorrow

thats my thoughts at present
