Any snow coming tonight as heard Radio2 saying rain and snow coming down from north tonight, will Northeast Somerset get any? Feels cold enough. Quite high where i live, about 400ft above sea level.

Don't think there will be anything tonight.

Certainly going to be a cold one though.

Not in this part of the region unless the front is further W/SW than expected.

Mendips are alot further west of cotswolds though so I doubt it. Ians normaly pretty quick to mention a risk for mendips if there is one. good.gif

Possible channel Low next week has potential but with such a knife edge situation we will have no real idea until around 24/48 hours before the event takes place although it could throw up a nice surprise...

Not as cold as last night, slow decline in temperature 0.1c

I'm searching for a suitable technical term to describe how I have felt most of the day. I think chuffing cold should do it.

Have you been playing choo choo trains with your breath?

warming up in plymouth; 7 degrees now.

0.9c here and not moving much. (eta 0.7c so a drop in just 5 mins!)

Last night was blimmin cold though at -2.4c (altho friends were posting on FB that it was -6c... and my phone was telling me it was -4c but I am sure it wasn't quite as low as that)

V heavy frost too which hung around for a while on the front garden... Looked pretty biggrin.png

I was going to round up the weather prospects for the SW tonight, but I think I'll leave it until tomorrow now.

The ECM Op, and to a certain degree the ECM ens offer a potential snow event to some of us (elevation will help) but the UKMO doesn't support this so I think it's a definite case of more runs needed.

However, it does go to show that with some favourable tweaks, snowfall over the next week cannot be ruled out just yet, even down here in he SW.

For the time being, cold but high level cloud stopping a decent air frost from forming.

A pleasantly mild day here in Falmouth. A cloudy start but a clear and sunny afternoon. A very decent day for the very end of November. Atlantic influence seem to be present here today. Cold tonight however.

A cold but sunny start to the day with another frost.

Looks like it might cloud over later on with the threat of a spot of rain or two as a weak front is currently making its way S/SE across Northern England.

.

Good stuff I like to hear that.

BBC weather picking up on potential snow in the east and just hints on wintry weather. Very very chilly out there this morning although haven't checked the temps. Nice for a ride on the horse but I have to wait a little bit as prob too icy on the rural roads. :( will be back later on here to see what you all say following recent model runs :)

Haven't looked. Has it been replaced by snow preceded by snow? :p :p

That would be the surface temps though. Mine do too, not really budging away from 3c-4c whilst the rain is over me.

Unfortunetly the upper air temps do increase slightly as the rain band comes over us, hence why snow isn't forecast for our region.

Like I said straw clutching blum.gif I expect I'll probably get an hour of sleet before rain on the front edge at best to be fair.

Lets just keep an eye on thursdays channel low... search.gifsearch.gif

Yep, I'm still not ruling out some transient snowfall next week. It's all on a very fine line for us (as always) & no doubt the M4 scenario will be played out a couple of times, but there is some hints from the NWP output of something of a Wintery flavour possible later next week.

Something I'll be keeping a close eye on anyway.
