Definitely think it's time for the regional threads now, can this be done please mods?

Yeah, all these NE'eners are making me jealous.

Can we have the mild NW Thread back please?

Beeb forecast light NO tomorrow for us then heavy rain. Since there's no real cold uppers I suspect NO is the more likely event.

Dreadful under foot this morning and the roads weren't gritted either. Nothing better try to cross a busy main road trying to keep upright. Since none of the driver had spotted a snow flake they were feeling confident and not really driving with black ice in their mind.

Specs on the way for you matey. It is a regional thread. doh.gif

As in north west and north east and yorks!! Specs on for you lol

Actually, upon closer inspection, the NMM says rain for EVERYONE away from the Pennines tomorrow. Temps of 5-6C everywhere as it moves in with uppers at -3/-4. Odd, this goes against the Met Office.

Is that a properly shielded sensor? I only ask because no PWSs in the area are reporting a temp as low as that.

Nope, its a rubbish thermometer which will be affected by the snow cover.

I'm expecting it to hit NW England by dawn, and NE England mid morning or soon after.

Double excitement for me today - I just got my first university offer to study maths at Leeds next year :D

CONGRATULATIONS DOUBLE WHAMMY :)

I see Boulmer is up to a balmy 3C now, compared with -1C at Albemarle; no wonder the snow has struggles to stick near the coast!

Just managed to get a North-easterly element to the wind today thanks to that small low out

in the north sea, which was enough to push the showers inland a few more miles.

About an inch of snow here, but nice and powdery.smile.png

Aye,

Temp has risen here to 2.3C from 0.9C but the humidity has have dropped respectively to 55% from 96% so maintaining dew points (now at -5.5C) and still getting snow showers (Although they are lighter now).

Wind picking up too which i guess is what is increasing the temp.

I really can't see this being anything but a sleety (at best) event for low ground tomorrow. Looking at the figures, temps, DPs, and uppers just don't seen very promising - extremely marginal and on the side of the non-white.

Wouldn't buy too much into those BBC forecasts. At 88% humidity, DP's will be below 0C as the front moves in.

Currently 1.0C with a NW breeze still though it is dying out abit..

I expect -5C by midnight then rising slowly towards dawn. When the rain moves in I suspect it will still be sub zero here, so snow is likely here, but lets hope it doesnt transpire into a freezing rain event..

I was thinking -5C ish too, but very unsure as it never transpires does it.

Sub-zero here btw. :winky:

Not getting too excited about the prospects given the Pennines should have had at least 2 snow events by now and all that's been seen is across the higher elevated peaks. Beeb are confident of snowfall into tomorrow afternoon as temps are at their highest (well 2'c - 3'c) and will only increase as the cloud shield gets closer. Depending on timing if the rain is early/late by a few hours then temperature wise it'll make all the difference in terms of variables.

18 hours to go.
