12°C at 20:00hrs in December.....it shouldn't even be this warm during the day at this time of year angel.gif

15mm of rain here so far today, not near as bad as the SW but pretty miserable help.gif

Been pretty wet here today, but managed to get out for a last food shop this afternoon, seems like everyone else did theirs in the morning judging by the fact that I got straight to the front of a checkout. It is now nearly 14c here which is nearly warm enough not to light the stove which would be a shame. Also, the unheated utitilty room could do with being 5c or so cooler as half the food doesn't fit in the fridge, and the keg of beer might get too warm

13C here in Watford, abismal. Go home Atlantic, you are drunk!

It should be illegal for the temperatured to rise above 10c in winter.

Never seen a waving front so far south, usually you see them further north effecting northern England and Scotland.

K, I've just walked home in very mild rain too and I really liked it. I also quite liked the thought of lower power bills. Sorry coldies, I like snow, but will head to the Alps / northern / eastern Europe / Canada to see it. Otherwise, unless it's a long lasting reasonable cover, it's a total p.i.t.a., imho.

Also, if anyone here is facing flooding over Christmas, I really wish you well. Hopefully after tonight, the risk will drop.sorry.gif

Mmmm! I love walking in the rain. I walked from Ippy station to nieces house and it was that fine rain that soaks you through. Lovely and fresh and invigorating. Mind you, me hair got wet because my hood wouldn't stay up on my big head so I gave up in the end. :D

Yes, everyone who is in areas with the potential for flooding..I hope you are all ok. Don't forget, bad as it is, possesions can be replaced....you cannot.

A few folk won't be waving at it either, they'll be sticking their fingers up to it and saying good riddance. tease.gif

Walking will be the best and safest form of transport in the next few days too. drinks.gif

I reckon Thursday's chart will eventually become Wednesday's child chart and Boxing Day will bring the colder air sinking south. For how long i don't know but I feel that will be the changeover day. f050.gif

GFS 12z likes the idea of colder 850s from Boxing Day onwards, whilst by colder, I mean nearer to the norm. drinks.gif I'll agree to not agree with Steve C this time around, bring me something cooler and fresher anyday over this rain, but like him, perhaps we wouldn't want this excessive country-wide rainfall falling as snow. help.gif However, like others have suggested, January could be leaning towards a special kind of synoptics rarely seen in the UK, so my eyes will be firmly fixed on the stratosphere thread over the festive period too. good.gif

Sorry I meant the UKMO, got the models mixed up. I thought you headed the model with 'ecm' but the model names were below each image. (if you get what I mean)

Still here sitting it out so keeping fingers crossed.

Good luck Mark good.gif

It's been dry here since midnight and the temperature has dropped a couple of degrees (10.4 °C still ridiculously mild) it was the gusty SW'erly wind that woke me up this morning rather than rain hammering down...makes a change angel.gif

Happy Sunday, have a good one all....and stay safe smile.png
