South East & East Anglia Regional Discussion - December 19th 2012>

This is a question to those who have travelled along the A27/A23/A24 in the last couple of days. I'm due to deliver pressies to my sisters who live in Worthing and Sompting tomorrow am. I'm leaving from Crawley, which route would be best to avoid any flooding? I'm normally travel down via through Henfield but I'm guessing it's probably best to avoid that route!

Might be worth checking on twitter if you have it "travelnewssouth" is the guy to follow. From what I read today London Road Henfield was flooded today.

Hi,

A23 is ok, as I have been that way today. A27 Shoreham - Lancing has roadworks (quite slow when busy) I went through Henfield and Steyning, right out to the A24 on Wednesday in the deluge, and the back roads were passable but with a lot of standing water.

hopefully the charts have overcooked the rain

the only good thing was today kept dry

all we can do at present is keep fingers crossed

I just rung them to double check and yes they are concerd too and might update to a flood warning from alert as the levels are expected to rise a flood low laying areas :/

Nope :/ Its so high the bridge that it usually flows under with ease it cant its backed up. which I think is causing problems further back up stream.

We had a discussion today at work about what kinds of hobbies attract people who might fall within the autistic spectrum disorder boundaries. Top of the list was Train, and Plane spotters, and then came extreme weather enthusiasts. It would certainly be an interesting project for anyone considering a career in mental health.

heavy rain still here at lunchtime

strong westerly wind

feeling cold

should clear by late afternoon

tomorrow night around mid-night should be dry

however early in the morning more heavy rain and gusty westerly winds arriving

sunday

westerly winds but dry

hopefully this does not change

sunday night a weak westerly wind

some potential for some very heavy rain on the south coasts

staying mainly dry north of london

monday

i hope this is not correct and that low is somewhere else

this will cause problems for the whole of the south east

tuesday

i am holding on this at present

this has shifted everything further south than last night

will do it tomorrow night

What cant take heavy metal,welll its depends on how heavy it is,its the best, nothing like a good head banging session Thats we do when the weather mods let us down

It's heavy believe me. The garden will be turned into a (very muddy) mosh pit as we speak. And with a couple of well known Suffolk HM guys in the crowd it could get interesting.

Lol i saw towers of London in a pub i got dragged into a mosh pit,i was in high heals and a mini skirt with a hand bag lol,i was scared stiff and never want to do it again my daughter loves screaming metal ew

the reason i called the 27th as fi before was because of the big spread

the spread is now the 28th

the 27th is nowing showing cold and earlier was showing warm

if the trend continues the ensemble will start dipping down lower from the 28th onwards

i think we will start seeing some good charts showing on monday or tuesday

12z run on christmas day will be fun if you have a late christmas dinner

on a serious note lets hope this flooding issue does not ruin too many christmasses for people
