Thanks John ! Very concerning looks like another rinse and reapet of last weekend :/

hi surrey

looks similar i agree

still waiting for sundays fax

i have noticed on saturdays fax a potential for high pressure to rise

to our west it could get sucked northwards between the 2 low pressures shown

Anyone seen the the water levels on the river Thames!!! Oh dear sad.png

I have to laugh as a Ex employee of Thames Water, following the drought earlier this year and hearing that river levels had never been so low and how they would take years to recover? Now its coming over the top and all the reservoirs are full because they did not allow their levels to drop in the summer.

I see all weirs are fully drawn so there is nothing more that can be done to prevent flooding?

I suppose on the plus side Thames water have saved millions of pounds in pumping costs this year which will add to its share price so every cloud has a silver lining as they say diablo.gif

Hello HP, Very interesting, The shareholder is always king, The customer is now far down in the pecking order!

As a matter of interest is your game still on at the moment?

Ours still is officially in spite of a lot of local flooding, I very much doubt it will go ahead, I am not confident looking at the further outlook if our home game on Saturday will survive the weather either.

Kind Regards

Dave

A little late, but Merry Christmas everybody! Hope you all had a great day.

There is a small river which flows alongside a road near me which is always prone to flooding, although hadn't flooded for nearly a year... Now it's flooded 5/6 times in the last month and is still over now. Had a couple of heavy downpours today and had one nice loonnngggg rumble of thunder too!

Got some new fishing gear and i'm hoping on going fishing on Friday, fingers crossed that Santa brings me some dry weather as a late christmas present blum.gif

GIVE ME SNOW!! smiliz39.gif

At least we all have christmas to distract us from the disappointingly unseasonal weather, hope everyone has had a good one. There was a small window of opportunity for getting out of the house this afternoon when the downpour stopped...good to see the sun briefly

Landslide and rockfall warning for south-west England

_64939380_64939374.jpg

A rare landslide and rockfall warning has been issued for south-west England by the British Geological Survey (BGS).

The BGS has concerns about the stability of cliff edges and cliff sides because of the quantity and intensity of the recent heavy rain.

It is worried about people going for Boxing Day walks, and is advising extra caution near cliff edges.

Using technology such as radar, webcams and ground based sensors combined with the expert opinion of experienced forecasters; the Met Office is able to declare whether or not (YES or NO) snow fell at the following locations on Christmas Day 2012:
