cold

12th onwards

fi 15th now (1 day later than 12z)

again cold spell or cold snap?

if the 15th goes to 16th etc this could end up lasting a while

gfs for the 13th

from ian fergusion on mod thread

Very latest UKMO guidance just issued goes for the cold/v cold story predominanting into next week with potential sequence of battleground set-ups of snow to rain and back again in W/SW ; heavy snow potentially in any region; perhaps with a temporary relaxation of pattern but return of cold thereafter (MOGREPS keeping a N'rly well into 10-15d trend period).

Morning all. :)

There are birds singing in the dark outside my office right now. Maybe they know something we don't? Like Spring being around the corner?laugh.pngtongue.png

Could well be robins who are often the last to stop and first to start singing. I hear them singing at all times near me.

Even worse, we saw a pair of amorous mallard ducks on our pond a day or two ago… they'll be laying their eggs just as the big freeze hits.

I bought mine from Sainsbury's today...£4.99 down from £14.99..!!!!

Bargain! I must check out my local Sainburys.

Another bargain: my husband's just noticed heating oil's gone down another tick… get your orders in as they'll be sky high again in a couple of weeks.

I think it is a robin (I can only hear one now). He's still singing to his heart's content.biggrin.png Maybe he likes cloudy dross weather?sad.png

They sing, even in winter, to protect their territory.

Urh here goes im going to be the first to stick my neck out in the woods...

I think Friday into Saturday that includes all day Saturday may see some kind of wintry PPN. But I think come Sunday and into Monday maybe be the first signs of some snowfall. How much? I have no idea to far out to tell and no doubt this will change.

Overnight GFS backed away from the idea of wintry precip going for rain instead. This still has a long way to go but the best on offer this morning from them is:

Don't get worrying just yet though eh?

Morning...all doom and gloom this morning on the model thread?

Hopefully it'll be happy dance time after work if the models pull their socks up :)

Have a good day everyone!

Morning Lottie!

It's par for the course really. I'm not sure why people still get hung up over one duff run when we have been looking at these damn pictures for years and know that it aint over until......

Another day, another completely different forecast from the billion dollar computer models. Anyone considering telling the poor souls who are addicted to the the Model Forum that they should get out more?

We had a very nice sunrise here in the end. It might have been a nice photograph, if it wasn't for the telegraph pole hell that is outside my office window!

Maybe I'll have a peek at the model thread, to get a gist of the overnight runs. Like others have said, there's no point in getting too stressed about what they show on an individual basis though. :)

I should hang on for a couple of hours Steve and see what the next runs bring :good:

I've just read Gibby's summary in the model analysis thread. If one short sentence summarises it, it's 'colder but uncertain.' That'll do me for the moment.good.gif
