So the bizarre continues perhaps SSW effects......I don't know if all these peculiarities make learning easier or harder but certainly make it interesting :)

Dense fog here and feeling very cold. Temperature at Glasgow airport at 0C. I don't think I'll see snow from this band of precipitation but I live in hope for a wonderful surprise in the morning.

It's tropical in Glasgow - a balmy 4C and rain.

Just checked out the 00z gfs - and according to that, we're in for an absolute tonking with Snow from Friday right through until Sunday.

I think I'm putting my money on a rainy windy weekend instead.

The band of precip is going to have to throw on the anchors if it's going to stall and/or move back east. It's done Glasgow to Edinburgh in around three hours.

Not looking to great for snow showers coming into the east of Scotland over the next 2 days looking at the precp charts, after all the promise of the last couple of days!! Downgrade at the last minute as normal.

A bit milder overnight in Penicuik with a slight thaw of the lying snow.

The models are looking very good this morning! GFS gives us snowmageddon - totals of up to a foot if that came off. ECM looks good too, a nice wee snowy slider. UKMO is OMG. Very similar to last night's run with a stonking slider creating a blizzard that lasts from Friday till Sunday. I know it feels like everything looks good and then gets downgraded getting closer to the time, I have a feeling this will be special.

Rule seems to be if it's snawing at fort SS, then it's pish everywhere else. If it's pish at fort SS, then snaw everywhere else.huh.png

Lauderdale microclimate.

Latest BBC forecast is pretty uninspiring for here. Snow risk for later today is pretty much gone and little more than a few flurries on Tues and Wed. Currently light rain. As usual the reality, despite the models a few days ago, has been sadly predictable.

I have watched that precip move east from half five this morning (ok, in between other things, I didn't just sit there dribbling into my laptop). Fingers crossed for snow. What is it? Rain. laugh.png

I'm hoping when I move next week that I bring the snowdome with me rather than the snowshield, otherwise you're screwed for snow for the forseeable

It is snowing here again.

Snowed all day yesterday but the ground was wet so didn't stay. We have had a frost through the night last night and it is now lying!

Some very interesting radar watching this morning, I wonder if/when the precip is going to stall. Something brewing off the east coast, off Aberdeen. Is that the wall of cold air the front seems to be forecast to bounce off?
