nice covering of a few cms here in Northampton. Not snowing now but sky is looking full of it. Just hoping the next band is snow and not rain. we're on a knife edge here and it could go either way today.

From the dew point GFS charts, you guys in the E Mids should be OK for snow today.

I'm travelling through Nuneaton at the moment and as far as I can and something is hitting the windscreen. It looks wet rather than white. And the puddles confirm it; we have......rain.

whats the possablity of itvturning back to snow on tge back edge for west midlands??

I'm not hopeful. However the metO forecast has heavy snow for us tonight, so it might get all washed away during the day, and be replaced by a nice pristine layer overnight!

Looks like rain for much of the Midlands today then though returning to snow tonight for a time as showers get going again for a bit. Glad to see the Cheshire Gap occurred at home last night night too. :D

The band has arrived in stoke and it is ...... Sleet.

Do expect it to turn to snow when the heavier when the precipitation picks up

It's very marginal either way so you never know, always a chance it could turn back to snow in heavier bursts also.

The gd news is at least the bands firing up nicely over the last half hour. Its that heavy stuff id expect many to see some snow from as a fair few reports in nw thread of snow

it's so annoying when we get a covering of snow only to get it replaced by rain and then possibly turning back to snow. What a waste. By the time this second band turns back to snow the ground will be so wet there is little chance of any snow settling unless it is incredibly heavy. Saying that, the wet ground will be treacherous this evening and tomorrow morning if it freezes over tonight.

rock on, just started to snow here again, light at the moment, and temps holding steady at 0.2, should be interesting when heavy stuff arrives, also looks good for people East of here.

A cm or two here but paths/roads are a melted slushfest as I think its a little above freezing.
