Rain here now and what little lying snow there was is rapidly thawing. Shame but that's us done and (not really) dusted for now. Now looking at the end of the week.

Is that the general concensus ? Id like to venture back into work in Birmingham tomorrow and rest of the week.

You should feel sorry for us in the southwest....We had like 5 snowflakes last night, so small you couldn't see them but that's been all so far this winter....It's always rain here then turns to snow as it moves through the rest of the country, at least you'll be having a better chance of snow than us The only effects we've felt so far with the SSW is that it's just been very cold and rainy!!

I didnt get my hopes up for today. Last night we did well. Hoping for another Cheshire gap streamer towards the end of the week. Pleased people are seeing snow.

Just popped out an hour ago and we had really big flakes of snow but nothing settled. Now it is sleet and less heavy. Such slim distance between snow and rain.

Nice for once to be in the favoured spot - the heralded Dec 2010 barely gave us a few cm!

Its still coming down but certainly not that thick - think surfaces are a little bit too warm.

Rain easing off, virtually all snow gone. Just been into Wales on a job and it was raining there (N of Welshpool) as well, with it mostly thawed even at 300+m asl.

Turned back to snow here. Its all down to the intensity. Much too wet to stick though.
