Negativity at its best in the light of such uncertainty.

Good to see you looking in. You're not missing much by the way, hardly 18th Dec 2010 out there right now! Nice dusting though.

That is not negative, every single forecast, model, dew points etc all suggest pure rain, and T12 not really FI

Snowing very lightly in Knowle now :)

Snowmageddon for some parts of the region, including here very memorably. Great snow event, but very localised.

Why has the met office issued warning not so long ago if it were certain that it's not going to snow tomorrow?

we can't write off the rest of the week though mark. anyway, there are fine lines in dew points as we all know. tomorrows a different day and the warm sector may be much further west.

Can someone please enlighten me as to why, when we have SSW and a -NAO, we still get marginal snow events, which means likely rain/sleet? If we can't get snow when these systems are in place, when can we? Also it puzzles me that although we are on the gulf stream, the seas around us tend to get the snow, whereas the UK itself gets rain. Surely the waters around us are even warmer than the island, so why do they get snow and we get rain. They are in the gulf stream too!!

For my location that warning is for ice, snow for East midlands

Country file only use charts up to Friday just gone, so don't write off this week just yet

Really? To me they use the very latest charts as they are MO employees.

Noticed a few reports from Members in the East Mids saying '' nothing yet'' well same here in this part of the East MIds. could be the precip we are seeing is evaporating before it hits ground level, a good sign that it's hitting colder air, this could mean that any later precip could intensify.
