Sadly not, its dropping south i'm getting close to the top edge now, probably another hour for me, a bit longer for you.

You're right! Can't be far off blizzard conditions with some of these gusts??

Registered a 29 mph gust a short while ago, really whipped up the snow from the roofs.

Plenty of photo opportunities tomorrow to be had :-)

Just had a flake in Mk17. Tomorrow I'll be having a mars.

I was thinking more of a crunchie, especially if what little bit of snow I have in MK7 freezes angel.gif

Morning room. Well what an exciting day that was yesterday. Well done for those further east around Norfolk who ended up with several inches of snow.!

Here in west Cambs, we had a few cms yesterday morning / lunchtime - but nothing in the evening or overnight, but I cant understand the temps.

Every forecast last night predicted freezing conditions, however, we stayed above with 1.2c currently. Certainly not the -3 or -4 that was forecast. How has that happened ? Looking outside I expected frozen slush and snow cover still in places it was when I left it. ! It looks as though we could've even had a continued slow thaw. ?

Anyway, thats our lot now. We wont be affected by the coastal showers. Not sure about Fri / Sat yet.

Morning all.

Had a light covering of wet snow in the night. More nuisance value than anything, especially as the temperatures here are a degree or two above freezing - 1C in Alresford and Hatfield Peverel and a little bit more at times on the journey down.

I'm looking for the cold to become more entrenched later on when the last influence of that pesky (to be honest, for my location, that was what it was) low disappears. smile.png

On catching up with the postings and seeing the username, I'm guessing it's because he is one of the BBC local weather forecasters / presenters. smile.png

Well done to you lucky lot in the north of the region too.clapping.gifhi.gif

When are you back there though K? Is it tomorrow? If so, then six inches of snow won't melt in the meantime, so you should still enjoy!biggrin.png

Bit disappointed here too. Went to bed at 1am and it must have stopped soon after. A lot of snow cover seems to have melted out there.

Little line of showers coming down the east coast starting to make its way inland . . might just get a few more flakes out of it but most seems to be heading for norwich

Quite interesting looking at the precipitation expectation from the Hi Res Model (00Z)

The first chart is the anticipated accumulated precipitation until 8 o'clock this morning (effectively what has happened already today) The second one is total precipitation until midnight tonight.

Looking at the difference between the models, it suggests to me that some parts of the NE of the region may still be in for more significant (hopefully) snow today.biggrin.png
