i have a question ? would the aproaching front kill off the convection snowfall over the spine of england at moment or would it simply ride over the top of it ?

It should simply die out most of it before the front approaches.

Adam lufc keep the faith i dont think you will feel the same tom. Watch the radar all day.

Usually there is a small gap in between, the area just on the edge of the precipitation aproaching from the southwest probably won't get much in the way of showers.

meto radar seems to be stuck on 21-30 frame .great!!

They seem to 'stall' when things are getting a bit 'skewed' and it's all hands to the pumps? With talk of a small scale polar low developing over the North sea off Norfolk you can imagine things getting quite busy in there right now?

If we do see a small scale circulation develop out there then how will that play into the system coming in from the SW???

Fairly decent snowfall in the last hour. Everything lovely and white over again. Perhaps 2cm's from that. :)

What a disappointment, showers dying out moving inland. Started with moderate snow, but is fizzling out.

The METO forecast for Penistone now shows light snow from 00.00 to 18.00, then heavy snow from 18.00 to 12.00 Saturday, then light snow from 12.00 Sat

all the way through to Monday morning.

Thats more than 3days of constant snow, i wish, but they're experts, it wasn't showing that a couple of hours ago.
