My only worry would be if lived on the far East Kent Coast but even there they will join the party and get a covering imo. The South Coast should do well out of it. Wether or not it turns to rain Sunday is another matter but would not worry at all about Sunday at this stage.

That's what i'm thinking IF that happens i'm jumping in the car, if decent snowfall won't come to me i'm going to find it!!!

temp 1.3c

I've seen too many other sources that give me great confidence, the MET O will update on Friday and their TV output is already saying snow all the way through the weekend!

OK, just over an hour and the GFS 12z will cover us in snow (probably!!!)

I,, along wth millions of sotheasterners hope they do ,in any case it would be gr8 just to have a weekend of snow filled fun, can you imagine the parks and anywhere wth gradient for sleighing,, its one the kids will remember,, bring it on..

If the front could be delayed the the SE till after I've got in from work, I would be most grateful - I really don't fancy not being able to get home for the weekend and go out and play in it! help.giflaugh.png

Has the MO got my area wrong? It says from 12pm on Friday until Sunday 3am continuous light snow and around 6-9hrs of heavy snow on Friday...?

Hahaha, thanks!

Seems others agree with me, I think it will need to be rearranged, I'm hopeful of a major snow event down here in London but it seems she will deffo have a major snow event up in the North East, I'll give the weather models another 24hours or so to try and work out what is likely top happen but looking at it, getting from Croydon to Euston might be a mission let alone hoping Virgin are running trains via what seems to be the majority of the snow through the midlands towards Manchester.

I thought it was a picture of the member and he was a she that batted for the other side, so to speak. Disappointing! :-)

So we had a 150 mile shift East of the snow on the 6z GFS. What will the 12z do in the next hour?

Something completely different I expect!

Prozac at the ready people...

Same for us, we are all due to stay in Bournemouth on Saturday night driving from Surbiton during Saturday... am not very confident we will make it there, or if we make it there, whether we'll make it back on Sunday. sorry.gif

Should qualify this of course by saying that as a dedicated snowbie, I'll take a snow event any day over a trip awaydrinks.gif Kind of with Snow Raven though, hoping if it comes during the day on Friday that it's after I do the journey home from Uxbridge to Surbiton (or even better, before I leave the house in the morning)!

All emergency services/councils etc are reporting that they're 'as prepared as possible'.

Midlands 10-15cm

North West 15-20cm+

South East/London - 5-15cm

Will be severe travel disruption.
