the amber warning is high impact, high likelihood....

the advice for a warning of that magnitude is....

Widespread deep snow with many roads closed or impassable.

Roads likely to become impassable with high risk of drivers becoming stranded.

Significant disruption to road, rail and air transport.

Risk to personal safety.

Expect significant disruption to normal day to day life as a result of transport issues, school closures etc.

Avoid making unnecessary journeys.

Ok so after this mornings outputs, comments from the more knowledgable posters, my own thoughts on Kents Microclimate and how we deal with such situations and also Meto.

Here is the updated Snow Risk Map for Kent, upgrades to all for % and Depth, the main suprise is the far East rising a touch now also,

25rcl10.png

I won't make changes to this till this evening but as if stand a slight upgrade once again will be added apart from East Kent

So London now into the amber warning and the latest forecast on the BBC website by Louise Lear said "don't be fooled by the quiet start to the day in the London area, that snow will move in".

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but does that rise indicate anything untoward in the offing? Thanks.

Louise Lear "You might get to work in London, but beware the band is heading your way" Graphics showed widespread disruption to all but very far East Kent. OMG. Is this really going to happen?

I see no reason at all why not. I'm already considering my journey to work tomorrow and even more so when I should start thinking about coming back!

So only 2 hours until the 12z starts to roll out and it can only tell us the same things surely? It's going to be interesting to see how much and for how long! :good:
