Atlantic well and truly back in by the end of next week unfortunately. Very confident now of breakdown to milder conditions with southwesterly winds and quite a bit of rain possible.

Band of precip heading over the IOM towards us. Hopefully tomorrow showers merge to give some longer spells of snow. Hopefully I get to see some snow as it could be the last of the winter but who knows what February will bring us!

Snowing here ... Building up the strength to shower after having the chills and sore throat all night. Not well at all but have to go in for meetin. Looking forward to the drive in the snow. Hopefully it continues all morning.

Just had a graupel and wet snow shower. Temp 1.6, upper NE wind but surface winds blowing from the W (bodes well for snow). Another hefty shower or two and it shoud snow at sea level

Heavy snow in Glengormley co Antrim. Accumulation of 5-6 inches so far

Seriously? I was in Castlereagh hills - was snowing, but not really too heavy, not lying much ...

Now I'm in North Belfast and it's like sleet

Snow in Cork overnight, a covering on bins, roofs, cars, etc., nothing on the roads though. Sleeting at the moment.

Well as per the rest of this so called cold spell it is raining here on the east coast near Donaghadee. The odd bit of sleet and blowing a gale. For me a massively hyped cold spell that hasn't delivered at all here. No lying snow, no frosts, nothing. I know some have done well but it is nothing compared to previous years ie 2010 when streamers and frontal snow deposited 8 inches here. So far another very disappointing winter.
