Looking at the latest radar images the main band is from the SW - the GFS ppn chart shows a certain amount of less intensity as it approaches BUT the winds look SE which could force the main band into a more Northerly direction - light flurries still here near Wilpshire.

Ian

I think you may be correct sir, plus that spoiler short wave ain't formed where they thought hence a steady NE track, now if it can just keep pushing before it stalls

06:30am MeteoGroup radar frame - the main front has now merged with last night's front smile.png

It is now straddling the Dee Estuary, and some moderate precipitation must be affecting Crewe by now I would have thought?

Very, very cautiously optimistic...

It's a slow old process Joe, light snow here and had just started when the cat woke me up at 5.30am 2cm on the ground from last nights surprise.

This slowing could be a good thing as it will be here much longer, if it can reach us then stall.. Result!

06:45 radar - another NE'ly shift albeit slight.

Won't be long before it gets to Liverpool at this rate. Any reports from Chester/Crewe?

CC will hopefully confirm snow there soon, although the shock of him seeing snow may just be too much for him.

The main routes have been gritted so should remain clear, I'd avoid the side streets though as quite a lot of fine snow has built up.

Hi Joe hope you're well mate, been a few years!

Yes, glued to the radar here scrutinising every update! Really does look like a pivot point over in Ireland.

Leading edge should be crossing the Mersey just now - still light on the front edge but some nice juicy stuff behind if it keeps going NE

Nothing here in Weston, South Cheshire yet...

Any time now I would think, light snow here and I'm only 11 mile down the road.

My rain alarm iPhone app says precipitation about 4 miles away. I'm guessing that sounds about right from what people are saying on here.
