One thing for certain if todays "event" does not happen it will confirm for sure that Lancashire truly is the snowless county of the UK - such excellent synoptics have been modelled in the last few days - now or never? - not exactly "winter over" - one way or another it will be comically ironic if it does not deliver......

Hi Joe hope you're well mate, been a few years!

Yes, glued to the radar here scrutinising every update! Really does look like a pivot point over in Ireland.

(aka Northern_LIghts TWO)

Morning, does seem that the pivot point has moved away from over us to the Belfast area hence we could get the snow from the front, ideally it stalls over us as the winds pick up, it could just happen

Looking at the radar on Will It Rain Today, I can't see any signs of the band slowing or rotating to avoid us here, should see something within the hour is my guess :)

If its due to cross the Mersey maybe just maybe it will get to the Fylde. I want yesterdays 12z to verify...

No but if you discount places like the far SW and so on - it has to be the unluckiest place for snow in England :D

we shall soon see how 'heavy' the snow is any time soon. sticking nicely, much better than the 6 or 7 hours wet now we had yesterday

The front is 2 hours earlier than expected and it's much stronger than I anticipated. Play the radar loop, it's having no problems moving against the block, the air isn't so dry after all. This is looking good. :D

Dont know what to think tbh. With all the upgrade downgrade talk. It seems to be further north earlier than expected so you never know, but I never get my hopes up living here anyway snow is certainly a bonus.

It certainly is looking promising for south west of the region at present :) a definite line of precipitation moving through South Cheshire quite nicely now. Still not holding my breath for here though!
