Still snowing steadily, coming up on half a CM now. I've got my ruler, how sad can you get!

You might need a decent tape measure before the day's out!!!!

Any idea of a pivot point (if any) for this? - looks to me like S Ulster?

Send some up to southport please!

I'm sure you'll get it soon; I've got a friend up in Southport who wants me to keep her updated on the progress of the front, so it better had reach there otherwise our friendship could be in jeopardy!

the heavier stuff is further south at the moment, but even in the lighter stuff it's still coming down at a rate of knots here

Lots of snow near Chester, looks set to continue for many hours going by the radar, the BBC forecast got it wrong this time.

its set to go for at least 18 hours or possibly more in a stall

Still a chance they could be right and all this stalls and then shifts south again - my confidence is now rapidly building in favour of the GFS solution and I think you're right they have got it wrong. Only time will tell for sure though.

The very lightest snow on the leading edge should be coming into Manchester area now, come on snow 8 miles north east of that and bingo for me

Well at least we can say Matt Hugo & Ian F as much as we appreciate their input got this wrong, that front will push even further and stall over us, tons of snow for the North West, BBC, Met O - you were wrong!

Will be more than happy for it to stall once it gets past here - as yet its still about 30 miles away.

dry and cold here in haydock, dusting on ground and some of the snow has melted on roof. sad.png I am well jealous

Light snow falling here up the road, I'm sure it will be snowing in Haydock any time now :) I think the snow has mostly been blown of the roofs, rather than melted.
