The very lightest snow on the leading edge should be coming into Manchester area now, come on snow 8 miles north east of that and bingo for me

It will reach you mate it's already snowing in Salford now

Light snow falling in Manchester city centre and the radar is looking good!

I have nearly a cm of snow from last night on my balcony so hopefully some more to add on that soon.

Light snow falling here up the road, I'm sure it will be snowing in Haydock any time now :) I think the snow has mostly been blown of the roofs, rather than melted.

I take it the main band should get to us now right?

It'd be devastating if it didn't after seeing how close it is on the radar.

I'm sure you'll get it soon; I've got a friend up in Southport who wants me to keep her updated on the progress of the front, so it better had reach there otherwise our friendship could be in jeopardy!

Just started sleety at the moment but bitterly coldcold.gif

Didn't realise it could last anything like 18 hours, what are the chances for that happening do you think.

Very high!

The GFS shows the front moving northwards to even affect Cumbria later today, looks like it might be right.

It's that really fluffy dry snow as well, it doesn't make your hand wet when you touch it. It's blowing around everywhere! Will be great to build a snowman with later I think ha ha!

Snow here for last half hour, moderate and pretty gusty too. That wind really cuts through you!

The temp has dropped significantly as well due to evaporative cooling, now -0.2°C.
