Yes the GFS 12z yesterday and then the 18z both took the LP centre North into Ireland which then took the PPN North - I didn't expect the GFS to be wrong at that range.

The 00z shows it nicely too Ian. I also pinned my hopes on the GFS, did not expect the consistency of that model less than 24 hours away to be wrong, looks like it may be coming into fruition, will wait and see how the front pans out over the next hour or so.

I am very tired but very excited!

Simon king on bbc radio 5 says Scotland & north west will miss out today. I'm not expecting any of the heavy stuff here but radar looking good for a few flurries here and there

Seems odd but then again it is very light and patchy yet on the leading edge.

Just started here , spot on backtrack seems 2 hours early so I am cautiously optimistic now, Belfast is the no snow zone not us

The Irish Sea could be about to save them, that area of precipitation that developed is pushing towards them, it's covering most of Isle of Man and almost up to the Mull of Kintyre.

So in theory, 2 hours early arriving = 2 hours LATER before it stalls = more snow for the entire region?
