Just been on the winter model discussion, lots of interesting runs pointing to a much colder snowy outlook for all biggrin.png

Yes, cracking ECM, you would have to think with all these sliders that either one of them will end up favourable for a massive dumping across the spine of the country or will allow heights to build properly over scandi and give us a stonking long draw easterly rather than a half baked one, i would like to see the GFS more supportive thoug and particularly the ensembles which have been poor for the last 5 runs now.

It's certainly looking good into next week in prolonging the old, ECM especially. Would have been nicer to go into it with more snow cover in this immediate area.

Not sure about snow for here as that discussion thread tends to have an SE bias when snow is called. Does any site have ECM PPN charts available?

I know, it was so maddening, I've been at work in Bury all day and it did snow quite heavily, but to be honest, the small amount we had here has settled far more and now this "diamond dust" is covering everything. Fingers crossed for the next lot.

*Diamond dust*, never heard that before, that's definitely what we have.

The GFS has been dire of late.

Tom Hammond showed SE of our region to see snow Sunday now, so they are slowly upgrading and catching up to the charts!

Looks good but strange how non of the forecasts have picked up on it.

Possible surprise in store for us tomorrow.

BBC only suggested a flurry or two at the most tomorrow but it will be good if we can get something more organised.

That trough would ensure that the energy is kept as the showers cross the Pennines... expect further coverings tomorrow...
