Yeah, shame those flakes aren't a little bigger, it's battering it down at the moment! Edited by The Yellow Snowman

"A reverse Cheshire Gap" - sounds like something you would find in a top shelf magazine.

Probably with Dianne Oxberry on the front cover, 'She loves a stiff cold one....'. Don't go there, it's a disturbing mental image.

Anyway after the last 24 hours I'll take a skeptical view of any potential setup this far out.

Moon is out now in Kendal. Temp 0.4C. Nothing all day and nought to come Sat, Sun and probably Mon too.

Funny, we can have rain everyday, and serious flooding, but snow> No, no. Seldom seen, often dreamed.

Happy for those who have though. Enjoy.

Starting to lightly snow here.Every flake that settes on bare patches is not melting.Anyone know if anything is coming Manchester way?

I been wondering whether this unexpected snow is actually drifting snow blowing by the wind. And it didnt show on radar.

Snow has eased off a bit here now but it's still been the heaviest I have seen today.

Radar is showing more to come including a large area in the Irish Sea but that appears to be heading northwards.

Hopefully more of that from the south of the region will reach ourselves and form a base for Saturdays showers from the east.

Can only dream.
