Most of the ppn seems to be to the east. That's moving n w but not coming into storms ? A detailed forecast from a pro would be useful. I think each regional forum should have an allocated forecast team.

Just started snowing this second. Exactly as Grimsby SL said, no foreplay just right in there at 3 on the Murrmeter. Bits of icy stuff in there though listening to the noise as it hits the window.

moderately snowing now (the light side of moderate, mind you). The cars have a fresh dusting and the top half of my (hilly) road has dustings too. Bottom half is still wet (altitude in demonstration it would seem!)

Just heavy sleet here in Hedon, we're only around 7 miles from the coast and its still too warm. Its having a devastating effect on the lying snow we already had too, we've gone from 4cm 100% cover before it started to a thin 2cm 80% cover now. If it doesnt turn to snow soon it'll be gone.

Currently 2.0C with a dewpoint of 0.8C.

Can you tell if it's settling or not?

Very fine snow here. Why oh why won't the whole thing push west then stall. S Yorks looks like its clipping the edge of the front with the main band moving further inland as it moves north. North east and eastern Scotland will do very well out of this.

Flamin Nora it's windy! My windows keep shaking!

Unfortunately just sleet so far which is ruining our snowcover! Looks impressive blowing in on this wind though!

Pleased at Kris' explanation regarding the warm sector ahead of the main band. Met still have us for heavy snow all night too and reports of dropping temps once heavier stuff comes still gives a little room for optimism!

temp 2.2C with dew point at -0.9C.

Drizzle turning to snow now. There is a covering on my car windscreen that was clear 10 minutes ago.
