Seriously. No one wishes they were in Consett anymore lol. Well not those of us who want to get anywhere this week....

That's what sounds so fun, I've never had to literally dig my way out of my own house but you lot might have to soon.

Back yard just now. What looks to be the shallowest point is about 6 or 7 inches above ground level https://www.dropbox....0121_173608.jpg

Last time we had snow like that was back in 78-79 winter..!! Hope it eases off soon for you as its looking to be concerning now..!!

Lots of rain and sleet here in a howling NE/E, dew points are now into negative figures so perhaps turning to snow but it'll be a complete waste..

Yep, full bin still sitting at the end of the drive since last Tuesday, but the local farmer has been and cleared the main road and entrance into our estate at least twice today.

Well I can confirm there's not one patch of white left around here...minging horrible vile cold day I am really miserable like now ...nick I sound like you mate lol but seriously consett isn't that far away and it's buried...a cm would have done me but all today had been is a horrible winters rainy day. The snow even started melting after the few inches we had Friday night!

Rant over ... I hope you are all safe where you have had snow..

6.5" here on my lawn. About 15 minutes left I reckon - so 18 hours of snow (often wet though) has added 3" altogether here in Gilesgate. Bleak conditions walking out there - still blowing a gale with swirling moderate snow.

What are our prospects tonight/tomorrow and beyond?

Just imagine what it must be like in Tow Law there around 1000ft ASL I think and Consett is just over 800ft

My relatives live in Castleside and Moorside in Consett. Always loved the snow they got up there compared to the Tees Valley.

Used to play a game whilst driving through Tow Law on the A68 - count the people. Even on a nice sunny day I think the maximum we ever counted was about 10.
